The Vitamin K Oxide in Auriderm clearing gel helps to aid in the reabsorption of hemosiderin, and also helps to repair and rebuild vascular walls. Auriderm clearing gel is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin and makes an ideal additional to Rx topical therapy or sclerotherapy.

Auriderm products with Vitamin K Oxide are indicated to promote healing and improve the unsightly appearance of bruising and hemosiderin staining.

Sclerotherapy is a procedure where hemosiderin is a concern. Indeed, a number of offices have indicated to us that, in approximately 10% of sclerotherapy procedures, their patients will develop a hemosiderin stain. This stain often lasts from several weeks to several months. These offices have prescribed Auriderm Clearing Gel, with the power of Vitamin K Oxide, and found that it is very beneficial in reducing their patient’s recovery time.

Because Auriderm Clearing Gel is indicated “to help improve the appearance of spider veins” and is also known to speed up the resolution of post-procedural bruising, we have been repeatedly asked for a sclerotherapy protocol that includes the use of Auriderm Clearing Gel both pre- and post-procedurally. Please note that there are no controlled studies indicating how Auriderm Clearing Gel can be used in this manner. We are, however, pleased to share with you information we have gathered from several offices that are using Auriderm Clearing Gel in conjunction with sclerotherapy.

In these offices, patients are asked to apply Auriderm Clearing Gel for two to three weeks prior to their sclerotherapy injections and to continue applying it afterwards for as long as there is visible bruising. The reason for the pre-treatment is different than for the post-treatment.

One office in Texas reports that the pre-treatment use of Auriderm Clearing Gel produces a clearing of 20-30% of the very fine, threadlike veins or capillaries. This then allows them to go after the larger, more prominent vessels at the time of the treatment, making more effective use of their time and, with the effective clearing of the smaller veins, create a more positive outcome for the patient.

An office in Georgia reports that the pre-treatment application of Auriderm Clearing Gel has significantly reduced the incidence of post-treatment hemosiderin staining, reducing the time necessary to continue application post-procedurally.

Data released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) states that the average cost of a sclerotherapy procedure is just under $400. The offices sited above report that building $20 of additional cost (Auriderm Clearing Gel costs $19.95) into this procedure is cost-effective by reducing the time it takes to provide the treatment, eliminating most of the post-treatment complications, and generating more referrals from highly satisfied patients.

Biopelle is working to develop more concrete data regarding the use of Auriderm Clearing Gel pre and post sclerotherapy and will provide that information when it becomes available.
